What does “independent living” at Engel Haus mean?
Independent living at Engel Haus is designed for older adults who want a maintenance-free, social lifestyle with the peace of mind of on-site support if needed. You enjoy your own private apartment, full calendar of activities, restaurant-style dining, and amenities like our club lounge, wellness center, rooftop patio, pickleball courts, and outdoor gathering spaces—without the chores of home upkeep.
Are pets allowed, and if yes, what are the pet-related policies?
Yes, 1 cat or dog under 30 lbs. is allowed. We have a pet fee, and the resident is responsible for the care of the pet.
Who is a good fit for Independent Living?
Independent Living is ideal if you (or your loved one) are generally active and manage most daily tasks on your own, but want fewer responsibilities and more connection—less shoveling, cooking, and driving, and more time for friends, activities, and hobbies.
Is there an upfront entrance fee or deposit? If so, is it refundable?
There is a one-time, non-refundable community fee due upon reservation.
What types of apartments are available?
We offer a variety of layouts, including one-bedroom, one-bedroom plus den, two-bedroom and two-bedroom plus den apartments.
All apartments include a full kitchen, spacious living room, in-unit laundry, deck and ample storage space.
Are utilities, cable, and Wi-Fi included in the cost?
Yes, DIRECTV and complimentary Wi-Fi are included in rent.
What amenities are included?
Residents enjoy a rich list of amenities, including:

How does dining work at Engel Haus?
Engel Haus features restaurant-style dining with chef-prepared meals served three times a day, seven days a week. You can enjoy meals in our dining room or stop by the café area for beverages or grab-and-go items.
Meal packages are available for an extra fee.
Are there group outings, and how often are they scheduled?
Yes! We typically have at least one outing per week to visit a restaurant, go shopping, or enjoy entertainment. Residents lead where they would like to go.
Does the community have fitness or wellness programs tailored for seniors?
With the new construction of the Independent Living community will be a new Club GA Wellness Center. It will feature top of the line equipment from Matrix and Nu-Step. It also has a large group fitness room for daily group fitness classes.
Are there spaces for private gatherings, such as family celebrations, within the facility?
Yes, we have several areas residents and families may reserve for larger gatherings at no cost.
Can families visit during meals and join residents for lunch or dinner?
Yes, families are welcome to dine with their loved one.
