Gardian Angels--Celebrating Seniors and their Wellness

Dedicated to the well- being of seniors since 1965, bringing hope and happiness to thousands of seniors.  A faith-based, non-profit senior care organization, Guardian Angels provides care and comfort to over 2,500 seniors annually with 460 committed employees and hundreds of loving volunteers.

Designing a full continuum of services during the past 50 years, translates into confidence for seniors knowing that regardless of what life might hold they will be supported and cared for.

With a mission of sharing Christ’s love and intent on enhancing lives and developing caring communities, Guardian Angels’ primary focus is health care and the supportive services needed by those served.  This is a legacy reflected in everything they do which is built on a strong tradition of compassionate, professional nursing care.  The highly qualified staff is committed to providing professional skilled nursing care both on long and short- term basis.

Guardian Angels is highly respected for the care and services provided, with thirteen distinctive addresses, in communities of Elk River, Zimmerman, Becker, Cambridge and Buffalo, offers an exceptional senior lifestyle along with the services to meet their needs.

As we envision the decade ahead of us, we know technology must play a major role in helping Guardian Angels extend improved services to seniors while at the same time being proactive to care needed in the most cost-effective way.  Sensor technology, telehealth and personal emergency response systems will help us share knowledge about wellness so the focus becomes prevention of greater health concerns.  This technology is designed to track daily living patterns and when an exception occurs in the seniors general routine the system monitored by a professional would trigger an examination of the circumstances.  Motion sensors detect activity levels, record sleep patterns and gather other types of information about wellness without the use of cameras, microphones or wearable devices.  As we empower seniors to participate in their care, we will improve the delivery of services Guardian Angels provides to seniors in our continuum of services.

Senior fitness is another major focus as we age to keep our mobility and balance strong by straightening our core mid section of our body.  Research tells us that 45% of seniors over the age of 80 cannot lift 10 pounds.    Body balance is critical to healthy aging and the quality of life. Guardian Angels is committed to developing programs and technology to help all of us celebrate the fullness of LIFE!
